3M, St. Paul, MN, through its Commercial Graphics Div., has entered into a licensing agreement with Mondi Coating and Release, Vienna, Austria, granting Mondi limited rights to 3M patented technology. The licensed technology enables Mondi to structure the surface of its release liners in specific patterns related to the manufacture of large-format graphic films so these graphics can be applied easily, quickly, and with fewer defects. Reportedly, this means higher quality graphics and lower installation costs.
Curwood Inc., Oshkosh, WI, a div. of Bemis Co., Neenah, WI, plans to expand its operations in Fremont, OH. The Fremont plant, which employs 141 people, plans to add 50 new positions over the next three years as the expansion goes into effect. The plant's excellent safety performance and positive workforce attitude were cited as factors in the decision to choose the Fremont location.
