Bobst Group USA to Host Direction '04 Open House

PRESS RELEASE

ROSELAND, NJ, USA — Bobst Group USA has set November 12th, 13th, and 15th 2004 as the dates for its "Direction ’04" open house. Earlier this year, at DRUPA 2004, the Bobst Group simultaneously premiered 12 new designs to the world market. Direction ’04 will be the North American launch and domestic premier of these new products.

"DRUPA can be a long, expensive, and time consuming trip for many of the US-based converters", says Chris Raney, VP Folding Carton Division, Bobst Group USA. "Our intent is to provide domestic converters the opportunity to get up close, first hand experience and see these new machines in operation. Also, we can run more levels of production in our Education and Demonstration facility than the logistics of a trade show will allow."

During the three-day open house, converters will get the chance to see Bobst’s latest releases with nine machines running live production. As Raney points out, "A feat virtually impossible on a trade show floor." Static and running demonstrations of the machinery will give converters the opportunity to get close-up time with these machines and discuss the problem jobs and special applications with many of the Bobst experts who will be in attendance.

Available for demonstration will be a combination of five new diecutters and foil-stampers including the Sprintera 106-PER, SPanthera 106-LE, SPeria 106-E, SP 102-BMA Foilmaster and the Steuer FBR 104.

Bobst also will present four new folder-gluers, the Amazon 105 A-1, Fuego 80 A-2 CS, Mistral 110 A-2 CS and an Alpina 110 II A-3 Matic. The Mistral will be demonstrated with an inline HandyPack II semi-automatic collecting table. Optional equipment in demonstration on the Alpina II will include a Cartonpack II automatic packer, and the innovative Easyfeeder II with Loader/Batch Inverter. Simultaneously Bobst’s Flexible Materials division will be demonstrating and displaying a Schiavi Compact Laminator – CL 450, Titan SR8 – Slitter/Rewinder, and the Schiavi Universal Deck – from the model EF4040/5050, a radically innovative central impression flexo printer.

A three-day event, Direction ’04 will consist of presentation, operation, and question & answer sessions. "There are more advantages to attending Direction ’04 than simply seeing the new equipment", says Raney. "Our guests will be able to view many new products in operation. They also will have the opportunity to engage Bobst’s engineering, technical and support staff on hand for this event in comprehensive discussions about the products and their applications. This interaction will also give the converters the opportunity to become more familiar with the Bobst organization

Being a Bobst customer is not a requirement for attending the open house. Direction ’04 is open to all folding carton converters and commercial printers. "We invite everyone to attend", says Raney. "Come for one session or stay for all three days. There will be enough to see, do, and learn that we can ensure it will be a valuable investment of your time."

Attendees are also invited to a special Saturday evening "Night at the Races" dinner party and entertainment.
