Fundamentals for Converters

Fort Mill, SC | The Converting Equipment Mfrs. Assn. (CEMA), a div. of the Assn. of Industrial Metallizeers, Coaters & Laminators (AIMCAL), will offer converters a dual track of fundamental courses on coating and laminating as well as slitting and rewinding on April 15–16 at the Marriott Executive Pk. in Charlotte, NC.

The C&L track provides technical personnel information involving the application of solution coatings onto a moving web, starting with the web itself, moving through the machine, and ending with the finished product. Both technical instruction and real world application are included, covering web cleaning, surface treatment, machine alignment, coating methods, drying and dryers, roller applications, and defect control and measurement.

Slitting and rewinding fundamentals will cover best practice techniques for paper, film, nonwovens, and other continuous flexible materials and the processes of winding, slitting, cores and cutting, retrofitting chucks, shafts, spreading, and guiding. Beginners as well as experienced personnel will benefit from this seminar.

A table-top exhibit/reception will encourage networking opportunities at the close of the first evening on April 15. For registration and more details, visit CEMA's web site.
