US-Based Converting and Printing Innovator EDGE Industrial Technologies Expands Platform Offerings, Eyes New Acquisitions

The cutting-edge technology solutions provider is now a $50 million business, supplying machine knives, punches and related equipment.

EDGE Industrial Technologies, the industrial knives and punches market leader, continues to expand its brand and portfolio of companies through acquisitions and organic growth. EDGE brings an unmatched expertise to a global customer base with the combination of three brands: Leverwood, TGW International, and Pearl Technologies, Inc. Together, these three companies serve the packaging, food processing, converting, plastics and printing industries.

In 2021, EDGE acquired Leverwood Knife Works of Red Lion, PA, and with an eye to the future, doubled Leverwood’s capacity. Moving forward, EDGE is continuing the focus on US-made quality and delivery. The company is now also better suited to take on more custom industrial blade design jobs.

Three Leading Brands

EDGE was first initiated in 2018, when Blue Wolf Capital acquired TGW International (USA business) and TGW Global (UK business), and merged them with  Pearl Technologies, a company that Blue Wolf acquired in 2011.

  • Leverwood Knife Works, acquired in 2021, is a world-class producer of custom and standard industrial knife blades for both domestic and foreign equipment. Bringing more than 25 years of experience, Leverwood manufactures all of its products in its state-of-the-art facility in Red Lion, PA by utilizing a highly skilled team of precision tool makers. Leverwood’s custom industrial cutting blades are used by a variety of industries, including packaging, paper converting, food processing, printing, bag manufacturing, recycling and more.
  • TGW International is dedicated to providing quality industrial machine knives reinforced with personalized service and technical expertise to the packaging, food processing, printing, and converting industries. The company was founded in 1908 in Sheffield UK and in 1994, TGW opened its US distribution center in Wilder, KY. TGW established its Indore, India plant in 2010. In addition to over 800 items in stock and available for immediate delivery, TGW’s current lead times are truly industry best for MTO (made to order) items.
  • Pearl Technologies designs and builds standard and custom high-speed machine attachments for punching holes, perforating and slitting for the converting industry. The company also offers blown film extrusion process enhancements that improve film quality at higher outputs and reduce maintenanceIn 1985, Pearl began as a small company in Savannah, NY. Now, Pearl is recognized as a leader in the plastics industry with more than two-dozen patents and a lineup of over 3,000 solution-driven products.
