Multiple Surface Winders in Production at Catbridge Machinery’s NJ Facility

Catbridge Machinery recently completed the simultaneous manufacture, assembly and testing of three surface winders at its Montville, NJ facility. The high-performance machines in production included a model 220 and two model 215’s.

Both the 215 and 220 surface winders feature rugged construction and innovative technologies for productivity, roll quality, and versatility. They offer automatic knife positioning, web threading and laser core-placement assists, slit web control systems and a streamlined roll discharge process.

Ideal for paper and nonwovens, these machines have extremely wide torque and tension ranges and can handle diverse thicknesses, cut sizes, and web widths. They are capable of shafted or shaftless winding, and a unique 2-up option allows side-by-side unwinding and rewinding. As with all Catbridge slitter rewinders, these models incorporate a state-of-the-art, comprehensive safety system.

The model 215 runs at speeds to 4000 fpm, rewinds to a 60” diameter, and slits to a minimum 2” width. The model 220 runs at speeds to 6000 fpm, rewinds up to an 80” diameter, and slits to a minimum 3” width.

Catbridge can assemble 12-15 machines at any given time, seamlessly integrating engineering and construction under one roof, allowing for shorter lead times. The company welcomes tours of the facility.
