drupa 2016 Begins World Tour

CHICAGO, IL | The World Tour for the promotion of drupa 2016, the trade fair for print and cross-media solutions, started in September 2015 with a series of presentations, press conferences, and trade press interviews in Asia, Europe, and the US, reports Messe Düsseldorf North America. More than 40 drupa events will take place well into February 2016, ranging from meetings in small groups to presentations with several hundred participants and one-day industry workshops.

“The drupa World Tour plays a central role in our communications and marketing mix of advertisements, direct mailings, online campaigns, sponsorship activities, PR, and press relations,” says drupa director Sabine Geldermann. “We speak to our visitors and key advocates directly and inform them first-hand about the latest drupa happenings. Another advantage: In direct dialogue it's possible to find out where the specific interests and needs lie. Next to personal conversations with visitors, this is of course another invaluable advantage.”

At the end of the World Tour, "drupa ambassadors" will have traveled about 275,888 flight miles—equivalent to going around the world almost 11 times.

The World Tour started September 12 with a presentation at Igas the International Graphic Arts Show, in Tokyo, directly followed by a press conference on September 14 at Graph Expo in Chicago for the North American media. Activities in Asia will include 14 events and the promotion in South America will consist of eight drupa events. New on the drupa World Map: Almaty (Kazakhstan) with a Print Promotion Workshop. The destination furthest away from Düsseldorf is Auckland (New Zealand).
