Kelly Robinson Named to NFPA Committee

FAIRPORT, NY | Kelly Robinson, PE, PhD, president of Electrostatic Answers and author of the PFFC column “Static Beat,” has been appointed to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Technical Committee on Static Electricity. 

The NFPA is an NGO (non-governmental organization) that writes standards to prevent fires such as NFPA 70 the National Electrical Code that electricians must honor when they wire buildings for electricity.

The NFPA Technical Committee on Static Electricity is responsible for editing/revising NFPA 77 Recommended Practices on Static Electricity that provides guidance on how to prevent static-ignited fires

Dr. Robinson, whose application was sponsored by AIMCAL, is now the static expert on the NFPA committee representing the printing/coating, converting, and flexible packaging industries.
