IIMAK Acquires American Ink Jet Corporation

AMHERST, NY | International Imaging Materials (IIMAK), a global developer and manufacturer of printing, imaging, and marking consumables, announces the acquisition of American Ink Jet Corporation (AIJC), effective June 1, 2015. This includes all formulas, brands, manufacturing assets, and processes from AIJ to produce and distribute inkjet inks used for wide-format and desktop printers. Michael Andreottola, former AIJ president and CEO, has joined IIMAK to focus on new product development.

IIMAK reports the move positions it for continued growth in inkjet markets. “Specialty graphics and imaging technologies fit nicely with our core competencies in production and distribution,” says Scott Surma, IIMAK VP of New Business Development. “We will maintain the highest level of product quality and consistency and invest in wide-format inks to meet the demanding requirements of graphic applications.”

Andreottola says, “American Ink Jet Corporation’s decision to join forces with IIMAK was done so with our customers in mind. IIMAK has a wide range of resources to explore innovations in wide-format inks and accelerate development of new products to deliver high value to meet market needs.”

IIMAK plans to keep the American Ink Jet brand name and will exhibit at the SGIA trade show in November.
