Maxson Sheeter Guarantees High Speeds

WESTERLY, RI | Maxson Automatic Machinery Company reports its twin-knife rotary technology allows users to produce many types of plastic sheet at higher speeds that conventional drop shear equipment while ensuring square, accurate dimensions.

Plastics that can be processed PET, magnetized laminates, lenticular plastics, high-impact polystyrene (HIPS), HDPE, expanded polystyrene (EPS), high-pressure laminates, and coated plastic films

Using the dual knife rotary cutter design, the SDFK is said to provide clean, quiet, and high quality cutting action. Features a knife loading capacity 800 lbs/3,300 sq ft (1,000 gsm). Employing what is said to be energy-conserving AC drive technology, the SDFK Sheeter provides a sheet length accuracy of +/-0.015 in. (+/- 0.38 mm).

In this sheeter design, the cutting section includes knives mounted in an upper and lower rotating cylinders. Using the exclusive clash arrangement, the operator can safely adjust the cross cutting blades while the cutter is running, by transversely shifting the upper cylinder across the width of the cutter to increase (or decrease clash). Company says this allows operator to improve cut quality while running the sheeter.
