Scodix Expands Globally at drupa

ROSH HA’AYIN, ISRAEL | Scodix, a provider of digital enhancement press technology, reports the recent drupa was the most successful event the company has ever attended. The company introduced Glitter and Braille effects at the show and, for the first time, secured orders for press installations in Russia, the Far-East, and The Netherlands as well as increased presence in many other countries around the world.

Dror Danai Scodix VP global business, says, “The show opened the doors to Scodix for new markets. We got the first orders from the packaging sectors, we got the first customers signed in many new regions in Asia Pacific, South America, Eastern Europe, and Central America….”

The Scodix S74 uses advanced jetting blocks and multiple independently controlled inkjet nozzles to deliver the company’s proprietary PolySENSE clear polymer in small drops. The patent-pending Optical Print Alignment (OPA) camera system is said to execute enhancements with pinpoint accuracy (image-to-image registration), scanning every sheet to ensure delivery of the polymer to its exact location.

The S Digital Press reportedly produces eye-catching effects using unique digital enhancement capabilities producing 99 Gloss Units, up to 250 microns in polymer height, and variable density capabilities ranging from 1% to 100%.

The Scodix Braille inkjet printing technology provides materials to the blind and visually impaired. In addition to recreating standard raised Braille formats, the technology can also reproduce scientific elements, shapes such as triangles and circles, and animal forms. The company says that, unlike regular Braille, the letters and shapes created by Scodix stay raised at the same height, never flatten, and are easy to sense-read.
