Hear General Colin Powell at Pack Expo

ARLINGTON, VA | Attendees at Pack Expo Las Vegas 2011, scheduled for September 26-28 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, will have the opportunity to hear a Leadership Lecture by General Colin L. Powell. The lecture costs $125 per person in addition to the registration fee. The address, entitled “Diplomacy: Persuasion, Trust & Values,” takes place Tuesday, September 27, 4:30-5:30 P.M.

Pack Expo also announces a number of initiatives, including the debut of a Pharmaceutical Pavilion that will highlight new technology focusing on safety and security, product protection, anti-counterfeiting, and dosing convenience.

The Brand Zone will feature innovative containers and materials that can help give brands the competitive edge at the point of sale and build consumer loyalty. The Confectionery Pavilion, sponsored by the National Confectioners Assn., will address specific packaging and processing challenges for candy and snack producers.

The Packaging Machinery Mfrs. Inst. (PMMI), sponsor of the show, also reports the creation of the Alliance for Innovation and Operational Excellence (AIOE) during the event. The AIOE's purpose is to bring together operations professionals from consumer products companies and solutions providers to address key industry issues and establish best practices on a range of critical operational topics.
