New Line Coming to CPFilms

MARTINSVILLE, VA — CPFilms will be installing new, state-of-the-art metallizing production equipment at its manufacturing facility in Martinsville. The line will join three other metallizing lines already in place.

Keith Dalton, VP of coating, laminating, and vacuum coating, explains, “Acquiring this new metallizing line will help us continue to grow and enhance our solar control window films business, as well as take advantage of emerging new business opportunities in the precision coating segment.” Those include static-dissipative packaging, graphic arts, automotive badging, and specialty labels.

Expected onstream in 2005, the new line will be housed in a specially constructed 9,000-sq-ft addition and will operate in a climate-controlled environment. Capabilities will include digital optical monitoring and plasma treatment.
