AIB Holds Seminars on EB Benefits in Packaging

DAVENPORT, IA | AIB International, the not-for-profit corporation that serves many segments of the food processing, distribution, foodservice, and retail industries worldwide, will be offering insight into new and existing regulations that impact packaging manufacturers, suppliers, and customers at the EB Benefits in Packaging series of seminars this fall.

Targeting flexible packaging producers, label printers, folding carton converters, and brand owners, this regional one-day event will provide an overview of electron beam (EB) technology and the impact it is having on the printing, packaging, and converting industries. The event will cover the financial, sustainability, and safety ramifications of using EB technology, including examples how today’s packagers, materials developers, and press manufacturers are adopting their business models to accommodate EB use.

Leonard Steed, global innovation manager of Food Safety Services Innovation for AIB, will outline the industry’s key regulations impacting stakeholders, then will explore what food/product safety goals should be understood and in place for customers and suppliers of packaging materials. Application of the FDA Food Contact Compliance Requirements, GMP prerequisite programs, and HACCP will also be discussed.
