Don’t Miss Upcoming Web Handling Workshop

Don't miss the upcoming workshop on December 7–9 that our own Tim Walker, of TJWalker Assoc. (www.webhandling.com) and author of his monthly column “Web Lines,” is staging with Optimation out at the Media Conveyance Facility. (www.optimation.us/MediaWebConveyance.aspx) The MCF is located in the Eastman Business Park (formerly Kodak Park) in Rochester, NY, and it's where Tim and the Optimation crew will tackle a number of web handling topics.

The event promises to combine classroom seminar and lab demonstrations to cover key concepts that optimize attendee's equipment and process designs while also providing practical steps to eliminate waste from web breaks, deformation, scratches, alignment errors, wrinkles, and roll defects. And lab demonstrations will allow everyone to see web handling principles in action.

It's not free though. Charges are $1,440 participant or $1,080 per participant if there are three or more from one company. Instructors are Tim Walker and Dr. Cole, a senior web handling development engineer with Optimation Technology Inc. Tim's been working as an independent consulting engineer since 1999, having worked previously for 17 years at 3M and taught over 4,000 students in his specialty. Dr. Cole developed his expertise over the course of 20+ years at Eastman Kodak Co. and is responsible for many patents.
