New P Show, Intl. Trade Fair for Process-Oriented Packaging Production, Has Premier Potential, Say Organizers

PRESS RELEASE

STUTTGART, GERMANY—Messe Stuttgart, organizer of P, the International Trade Fair for Process-Oriented Packaging Production, reports the new show "has the potential to become one of the world's leading trade fairs for the production of packaging and packaging aids."

Organizer Messe Stuttgart says 'P' will fill the void left after Papro was discontinued. "Many insiders agree the [termination] of Papro created a vacuum that could not be filled by the reintegration of packaging production in Drupa, K-Messe, and Interpack. The need for a leading international trade fair for packaging producers is not covered by these events," adds the firm's release promoting the new show.

The organizer reports the international industry has been clamoring for such an event. "A large number of companies have told us that such a trade fair has been lacking during the past few years," explains Thomas Walter, head of the technology and production competence team at Messe Stuttgart.

International Orientation
According to Messe Stuttgart, P will cover the entire packaging production process. "This means the focal points of the trade fair will be processes for the production of packaging and packaging aids. P will also [feature] all related printing processes—flexographic, gravure, digital, offset, and silk-screen. The trade fair will be very internationally oriented right from the beginning. The world market for packaging and packaging aids is [approximately] €350 billion. In Europe, there are a total of 22,000 companies involved in the production of packaging, and numerous large manufacturers of printing machinery have now defined package printing as one of their main strategic goals," adds the sponsor.
