FREE Mark Andy/Comco Flexo FeastWhere Flexo Printers Can Gobble Up Ideas

MILFORD, OH, USA—The recently acquired Comco div. of Mark Andy announces it will host its next educator seminar series on November 7 and 8. Held at the Advanced Training & Technology Center just outside of Cincinnati, the two-day "Flexo Feast" will educate packaging buyers, printers, and converters about the diverse range of narrow web flexo applications.

This season's program, says the co., will focus on management strategies and new technologies for expanding opportunities in the folding-carton and flexible-packaging markets.

"Our objective...is to present practical information on every step of the flexo process, from prepress to finishing," explains Wes Harrington, Mark Andy's director of packaging equipment sales. "We offer a unique opportunity, in a highly condensed format, for printers to explore market trends, new technology, and ways to provide more services from one printing platform." According to the co., Comco's last educator seminar (held last May) drew over 350 industry participants from 68 companies in 14 countries.

Highlights for the upcoming seminar include:

  • presentations from multinational consumer product co. brand managers and graphics directors;

  • packaging-market trends overview and look at flexo growth across industry application segments;

  • guidelines and specs for flexo printing to F.I.R.S.T. standards by the FTA (Flexographic Trade Assn.);

  • live demos on two Comco ProGlide MSP multi-substrate printing and converting systems;

  • live demo of combination UV- and EB-curing systems;

  • actual press makeready, production run printing, and complete job changeovers for folding cartons, cut-n-stack film labels, and stand-up pouches;

  • live demos of folding-carton and flexible-packaging finishing equipment;

  • technology presentation of DuPont Fast processorless flexo plate-making system;
