SMS Full Owner of China Extrusion Venture

DÜSSELDORF, GERMANY—The SMS group is now the sole owner of its extrusion business in the People's Republic of China, after purchasing the shares held by its partner, Chen Hsong Holdings Ltd., of Hong Kong. The business, which specializes in pipe, profile, film and sheet extrusion equipment and technology, has been renamed Battenfeld Extrusion Systems Ltd. and operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of SMS.

The move makes SMS Plastics Technology Group, of Düsseldorf, Germany, one of the few Western plastics companies with its own manufacturing operation and dedicated sales and service staff in China.
