Galileo Intros "Gold" Line

EAST GRANBY, CT, USA—Galileo reports it's recently introduced its new line of aluminum metallizers targeted for the very wide web market. According to the Italy-based company, the first GOLD metallizer was assembled at Galileo's plant in Prato, and was scheduled for a test run in September.

Although the first unit was constructed to accommodate rolls up to 3.3 meters (130 in.) wide, 1 meter (40 in.) in diameter, the GOLD series is designed to handle rolls up to 4.5 meters (180 in.) wide, mfr. reports. Galileo adds it has applied for several patents related to the manufacture of this piece of equipment.

Galileo says the first Gold unit will be available for customer trials from November 2002 through the spring of 2003. Those companies interested in viewing the operation of the GOLD line equipment should contact Paolo Raugei at Galileo Vacuum Systems in East Granby, CT, at 860/653-5911(ph) or at This email address is being protected from spambots.
