ANN ARBOR, MI, USA—Together the Flint Ink Foundation and Flint Ink worldwide have donated over $290,000 to September 11th charities, reports the ink supplier. According to Dave Frescoln, president and COO, the generous contribution is the result of a "immediate, heartfelt desire among Flink Ink employees to do something to help in the aftermath of the recent national tragedy."
"Flint Ink's employees transcended the anger, fear, and uncertainty we all felt," Frescoln adds. "The response of our foundation board and our employees has been truly remarkable. Their caring spirit and generosity is inspiring."
In a recent Flink Ink release the company reports:
Immediately after the horrific events of September 11, Flint Ink employees at the company's global headquarters and from operations around the world expressed the need to help those affected by the tragedy. The organization's foundation responded promptly, and its board pledged a total of $250,000 to the cause. One hundred thousand dollars was immediately disbursed and shared equally between the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and the United Way September 11 Fund.
The remaining $150,000 pledged was used as a five-to-one employee challenge. Ten days after the challenge was presented to them, Flint Ink employees from North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia/Pacific reached the goal of $30,000. By the end of the eleventh day donations surpassed $40,000. The final combined donation totaled over $290,000.
