M&A News Makes Headlines at Print 01 Last Week

CHICAGO, IL--An Indigo news conference last Thursday provided some surprising information for Print 01 "press" attendees: PFFC heard first hand Hewlett Packard (HP), Palo Alto, CA, USA, acquired the remaining outstanding shares of the Israel-based Indigo. In an HP press release, Carly Fiorina, HP chairman and chief executive officer, states: "The Indigo team has a rich history of innovation and strong customer relationships that has made it a leader in the...printing market. Our two companies have a proven track record of collaboration, and this new relationship will result in an even more compelling suite of offerings and support services for customers around the world."

Other M&A news also popped up at a Friday briefing: Barco Graphics, Gent, Belgium, and the Denmark-based Purup-Eskofot (with American offices in Kennesaw, GA) announced a merger between the two companies. The new company will go by the project name "BPE" until Q1, 2002, when the newly merged mfr. will release its new name, reports company officials.
