ITW Pillar Technologies Offers Industry 4.0 Capability

HARTLAND, WI | ITW Pillar Technologies, a manufacturer of advanced surface treatment and induction cap sealing systems, announces that it has developed and commercialized PillarSync, a new Industry 4.0-ready innovation that provides remote diagnostic monitoring of corona and plasma treater generator performance, as well as local monitoring of real-time generator performance data. The innovation also includes real-time mapping of uptime/downtime, power output, frequency, voltage, and fault diagnostics.

Steve Helker, treatment systems sales manager for ITW Pillar Technologies, says, “PillarSync technology provides our customers with immediate and continuous payback, giving them the ability to leverage remote real-time monitoring of our treater’s uptime, scheduled and unscheduled downtime, and faster diagnostic reporting in an “always-on” mode of operational monitoring. This breakthrough development has been a critical need for our customers, since uptime is critical for creating competitive advantages in packaging converting.

Helker adds “All of our systems, powered by individual (or multiple) generators from 1.0kW to 30kW, are ready to join other industrial machines in communicating and cooperating with each other and with humans in real time and via the Internet of Things. The very high level of interaction within Industry 4.0 requires efficient and reliable power supplies to provide always-on operation with no latency in communication.”

ITW Pillar Technologies confirms that its PillarSync technology is immediately available for all new and existing corona and plasma systems, and that demonstrations are available.
