Filmquest Announces Price Increase

BOLINGBROOK, IL | Filmquest reports it has continued to see costs for raw material spike along with a growing global economy increasing demand for polyester film. In direct response to this raw material surge, all polyester film manufacturers, off-shore and domestic, have raised prices in the past two weeks and unfortunately, Filmquest cannot absorb this much needed industry wide price increase. The company offers the following examples:

  • DuPont Teijin Films US Limited Partnership will increase prices on all Mylar and Melinex film grades by $0.10/lb effective with shipments on March 1, 2017, and later.
  • SKC is increasing prices on all of its PET films. The increase is a minimum of $0.10/lb. effective with shipments on or after March 1, 2017. This price adjustment is due to rising raw material costs and increasing demand.
  • Mitsubishi Polyester Film is announcing a price increase on all Hostaphan films. The increase is a minimum of $0.10/lb. and is effective on all shipments beginning March 1, 2017.
  • JBF Americas is adjusting prices with a $0.10/lb. increase for all grades of JBF BOPET films effective March 1, 2017, or as contracts permit. The action has been necessitated by the significant rise in the cost of the raw materials.
  • Toray Plastics (America) is announcing a $0.10/lb. price increase on all PET films effective with shipments on or after March 1, 2017 Due to rising costs in the production of PET film products, including both raw materials and other operating costs.
  • Polyplex USA shall increase its prices for Sarafil Polyester Films by $0.10/lb effective March 13, 2017. This increase is directly linked to rise in raw material prices, energy costs, and an improved demand.

Because of the above-mentioned reasons Filmquest announces an increase on all Questar Polyester Films by $0.10/lb effective with shipments on or after March 31, 2017. Price protection will be available only for new orders placed with delivery dates before March 31, 2017.
