CCL Label Expands RFID and Security Labels to Second Facility

FRAMINGHAM, MA, USA—CCL Label reports the expansion of its RFID (radio frequency identification) and security label printing operations to a second facility in Hightstown, NJ, USA. According to the converter, the newly renovated manufacturing site is located strategically to serve its pharmaceutical customers. "In order to meet demand in multiple markets and geographic locations, [we] will begin manufacturing labels incorporating RFID and other security features starting next month (January 2004) at the Hightstown operation," states CCL Label.

The company says, earlier this year, it completed construction of its brand new "state-of-the-art" facility in Upland, CA, USA; that operation now is fully operational and running multiple shifts of label production, according to the converter.

"Both the Upland and Hightstown facilities are part of CCL Label's Healthcare Solutions Group," states Marc Oosterlinck, GM of the Upland operation. "We specialize in pharmaceutical labels, our largest market. We are eager to implement our smart label business to applications such as product authentication, inventory management, anti-couterfeiting, diversion control, and security," he adds.
