pacprocess Tehran and IPAP Debut in Iran

CHICAGO, IL | The recent debut of the concurrently held fairs pacprocess Tehran—as part of the interpack alliance, and IPAP Printing & Packaging Expo—powered by drupa, exceeded both the exhibitors’ and visitors’ expectations. Some 7,500 attendees came to Iran’s exhibition center to see the products and services presented by 167 exhibitors from 11 countries on 165,900 sq ft of exhibit space.

The range of exhibits included the entire value chain of the packaging industry and related process industries as well as printing technologies from the areas of prepress/print, premedia/multichannel, postpress, converting and packaging, materials, equipment, services, and infrastructure.

Organizers Messe Düsseldorf and Barsaz Rooydad Pars Company (BRP) were extremely pleased with the results of the trade fairs. “The importance of the print and packaging industries cannot be rated high enough,” says Hamed Irani, director of BRP. “They lay the foundation for the competitiveness of a wide variety of products and are closely tied to rising export revenue. The trade fair concept of pacprocess Tehran and IPAP was successful and has created the prerequisites for a positive development in these key industries.”

“The debut of pacprocess Tehran was a resounding success,” adds Bernd Jablonowski, global portfolio director at Messe Düsseldorf. “I am confident that we can support even more interested companies in Iran with our expertise gained as part of the interpack alliance helping them to develop a high-potential market.

In cooperation with the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) and the IPAP Printing & Packaging Expo, pacprocess Tehran 2017 featured the special area “iCarton” geared towards producers of carton and corresponding packaging media.

The pacprocess Tehran 2017 exhibits were accompanied by a two-day innovationparc Forum program addressing themes related to the specificities of the Iranian market as well as the SAVE FOOD Initiative.

Messe Düsseldorf says Iran is an attractive market for the industry, reporting that a well-educated, relatively young population of more than 80 million people increasingly requests high quality packaged products that cannot be produced to competitive standards using local companies’ obsolete technology. This causes local producers to invest in new equipment, opening up business opportunities for foreign companies.

The next staging of pacprocess Tehran and IPAP is scheduled for early October 2018.
