TLMI Honors Mitsubishi Recycling Program

GREER, SC | Mitsubishi Polyester Film has been selected as recipient of the 2012 TLMI Environmental Leadership Award presented annually by the Tag and Label Mfrs. Institute for the Reprocess Sustainable Liner Recovery Program, which provides a sustainable reuse solution to the pressure-sensitive industry’s challenge of spent liner disposition. This program creates a closed-loop sustainable recycling process for polyester release liners.

The TLMI Environmental Leadership Award recognizes member companies that demonstrate a strong commitment to good environmental practices and whose experience proves that good environmental practice makes good business sense.

This exclusive direct liner-to-liner reuse process creates Reprocess Sustainable Liners with up to 25% post-industrial recycled content. The environmental benefits of the Reprocess program have been confirmed by a third party, Life Cycle Assessment. Dr. Marshall Ledbetter, Mitsubishi’s project program leader, says the company has already recovered several million pounds of spent liner material from the marketplace, reducing overall CO2 emissions equivalent to removing 720 cars off of the road this year alone.
