AGL Announces Foil Laminator

DEFOREST, WI | Advanced Greig Laminators (AGL) announces a 40-in. laminator for the foil industry. This laminator features a 24-in. product unwind and an 18.0-in. adhesive unwind that both include an Accuweb detector with remote guide point adjustment allowing an operator to quickly line up the upper adhesive to the lower foil, reportedly resulting in perfect alignment into the nip.

The product rewind features a unique drive system enabling the windup of defined lengths of laminated materials. A pneumatically controlled lay-on roll assembly winds to a maximum diameter of 24 in., and the machine features a taper tension wind-up control.

All shaft locations feature safety chucks and air shafts, and safety features include 24-in. light curtains prior to the nip, as well as emergency stop switches at all four corners of the machine.

Machine features 0–150 fpm maximum machine speeds and pneumatic transducer tension control system. Two 6.0-in. nip rolls are covered with 55-65/65-75 durometer silicone rubber that provides up to 60 pli of adjustable nip pressure.
