Dates for interpack 2020 Announced
- Published: July 11, 2017
CHICAGO, IL | The next staging of interpack, the international trade fair for the packaging sector and related processing industries, will take place from May 7–13, 2020, at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany.
The 2020 edition will feature a completely redesigned South Entrance and a new Hall 1. The new building will replace the former Halls 1 and 2 in summer 2019. The new Hall 1 will have a capacity of 129,400 sq ft, expanding the available hall space by 5,900 sq ft compared to the previous hall. In addition to a new Hall 1, the new complex will have a foyer of about 22,600 sq ft, with a 56-ft steeply pointed awning made from translucent glass fiber fabric with integrated LED lighting. It will have six meeting rooms and direct access to the Congress Center South. By the year 2030 organizer Messe Düsseldorf will have invested a total of €636 million from its own funds in the expansion and modernization of the exhibition center.
The suppliers’ trade fair “components—special trade fair by interpack—will again be held concurrently with interpack in 2020. After the very positive feedback at this year’s event, expansion options are being explored for 2020, says Messe Düsseldorf.
At the last staging of interpack, in May 2017, a record 2,865 exhibitors showcased their latest technologies to about 170,500 visitors from 168 countries, with a record 74% coming from abroad. Reportedly, three-quarters of the attendees had decision making authority.
Companies interested in exhibiting at interpack or components 2020 can register much earlier than in the past—at the end of 2017. The official registration deadline will be in spring 2019, with exact dates will be published at a later date.
