3M/Emtech Emulsion Technologies Go Digital with New Line of Label Materials

PRESS RELEASE

ROSEMONT, IL, USA—A month prior to Labelexpo Americas 2004 — which opened this morning in Rosemont with good foot traffic thus far — 3M/Emtech Emulsion Technologies released information about its entry into the digital marketplace. This morning at the 2004 Americas edition of the show, the company reports its customers will be able to choose from a selection of HP Indigo-optimized polyester and polypropylene facestocks. "All the label materials feature top-quality adhesives from 3M," states the manufacturer.

According to 3M/Emtech, in addition to the new digital-friendly products, the materials will be available in smaller minimums, "as low as a single roll, making them ideal for short-run jobs."

Also reports the company, all digital materials will be pattern-coated with adhesive, leaving a dry edge. "This prevents adhesive ooze and buildup on the press and provides easy handling and less cleanup," states 3M/Emtech.

Emtech and 3M Celebrate Two Years Together
It was two years ago that 3M acquired Emtech Emulsion Technologies, and company officials say the alliance has offered the converting marketplace "a variety of innovative products and services as a result...."

Adds the manufacturer, "With the commissioning of a brand new, state-of-the art solvent coater, the 'Go To Team' at 3M/Emtech is poised to deliver even more value-added solutions that enable converters to meet their customers' needs with the right product at the right time for the right price."

3M/Emtech says whether printers need products for indoors or outdoors, its removable adhesives are designed for nearly "every application"; applications include, but are not limited to, decals, resealable closures, merchandise labels. "These products offer excellent UV resistance in high-stability, low-peel, and ultra-removable formulations," adds the manufacturer.

New Customer-Friendly Web Site to Launch Next Month
3M/Emtech also says its newly redesigned web site — 3m.com/converter — will provide converters with secure online ordering, real-time pricing, and enhanced order taking. The company says the newly designed site will launch in early October 2004.
