Ipex Celebrates Print

BIRMINGHAM, UK | Ipex 2010, held May 18-25 at Birmingham's NEC, “demonstrated that the printing industry is back in business,” according to Prof. Frank Romano, international analyst and Ipex “Champion in Print.”

The show, owned by IIR Exhibitions, featured more than 1,000 exhibiting companies from 40 countries. Event director Trevor Crawford says visitor numbers were roughly in line with the last show in 2006, despite considerable industry consolidation.

Exhibitors reported record levels of business for both digital and offset technologies. Special features included the Printers' Profit Zone in association with the Print Coach, Nick Devine; the Great Print Debates (in association with Pira); the PrintIT! Awards; Xplor/BAPC seminars; the Digital AdLab meeting; and the EDP awards.

During the show David Preskett, Canon's European professional print director, was named as president of Ipex 2014. For more information visit www.ipex.org.
