New Marking Process Is Patented

CHESHIRE, UK

DataLase has been granted a patent for a new transparent pigment for application on clear films or substrates.

The pigment undergoes a color change reaction from white to black, forming a positive image when exposed to a computer-controlled, low-power CO2 laser. The process does not require inks, ribbons, or other consumables, reportedly making it cost-effective and more environmentally friendly than traditional printing techniques.
