Exopack Inspects with AVT

SPARTANBURG, SC --Exopack, says Advanced Vision Technology (AVT), has installed three additional PrintVision/9000NT systems at operations in Wisconsin and South Carolina. According to AVT, these newest installations bring the number of AVT systems at the flex-pack converter (formerly part of International Paper) to eight.

At the company's Tomah, WI, facility, reports AVT, Exopack installed a PrintVision/9000 NT automatic video-based printing inspection system on it new Fischer & Krecke Flexpress, as well as the same system on a Windmoeller & Hoelscher Astraflex. At Exopack's Spartanburg, SC, operation, another W&H press—the Starflex central impression flexo press—now is equipped with AVT's PrintVision/9000NT system.

Says Lance Shumaker, president of AVT's North American subsidiary: "Exopack's installation of the PrintVision/9000NT on its presses clearly underscores the outstanding compatibility of AVT's video inspection technology with the advanced technology of F&K's and W&H's presses. That compatibility assures maximum press speeds with the highest quality results throughout the run. The three new installations also reflect the superior performance Exopack has experienced in maintaining its high standards of quality and productivity with AVT systems installed earlier on its other flexo and gravure presses," he adds.
