Smurfit-Stone Powers Efficiency with CreoScitex

BEDFORD, MA, USA—Smurfit-Stone says its getting more efficient with CreoScitex's new Prinergy Powerpack workflow. "[This] workflow will give designated folding-carton plants in [our] consumer packaging division the opportunity to become more efficient in managing graphics," reports a manufacturing manager of the division.

Says CreoScitex, it and Smurit-Stone have a seven-year history and adds Smurfit-Stone has helped develop many of its most successful packaging-specific systems.

Smurfit-Stone appreciates Powerpack's open native PDF-based format (along with its integrated database), which is said to improve accountability by recording each step in job production, says CreoScitex.

Insite, explains Creo, is an integrated suite of Internet tools, and is also key because it helps customers proof remotely, approve or reject jobs, and submit change requests over the web. "InSite is a very powerful tool that allows collaboration with sales representatives and customers on graphics issues," adds Smurfit.

According to CreoScitex, the Prinergy Powerpack and Brisque Pack workflows bring new levels of process control to package printing."Prinergy Powerpack is the first PDF-based workflow for packaging prepress, while Brisque Pack brings the automation, RIP-Once workflow, color handling, and trapping tools of its workflow to the packaging market." Both packaging workflows, adds Creo, include InSite, the powerful suite of Internet tools.
