ASC Unveils Adhesive CAD Symbol

Bethesda, MD | The Adhesive and Sealant Council, in collaboration with ASTM, has released a new ASTM International standard, D7447-08, Standard Practice for Symbolizing Adhesive Applications. This standard, and the accompanying electronic symbol, enable engineers, designers, and other end-users to more conveniently represent adhesives on computer-aided design (CAD) drawings.

Individuals can download a free, executable plug-in of the symbol from www.adhesives.org and use it in several versions of AutoCAD as well as TurboCAD. Users can complete fields with information such as adhesive chemistry type and physical form, surface preparation, curing information and more.
