One-Pass Productivity for Large-Format Printing

KENNESAW, GA | The Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 105 debuted for the time at Graph Expo this past October 26–29 to optimize one-pass productivity for large-format printing. The XL 105-10P, in the perfector configuration, ran at speeds of up to 15,000 iph. In the straight printing configuration, the XL 105 is specked at 18,000 iph and is claimed well suited for package printers because of its ability to accommodate a wide range of substrates. The XL 105-10P press also featured Prinect Inpress Control, which won a 2008 InterTech Technology Award and is said to be the first in-line device for sheet-fed presses that uses spectrophotometry to measure color and register while the press is running. The press also featured Prinect Press Center, including a 40-in. Wallscreen unit where all press conditions and operations could be viewed at a glance, including color and register control.
