Illig Will Feature Thermoforming Line at NPE 2012

HEILBRONN, GERMANY | Illig will offer the RDK Series automatic thermoforming machine working from rollstock at the next NPE show, (http://www.npe.org/) scheduled for April 1–5, 2012, in Orlando, FL. With combined forming-punching operation trays, equipment makes hinged packages and lids of many different shapes and sizes from a variety of materials including PS, PP, and PET, and PLA.

Productivity to 55 cycles/min is accomplished with servo drives and process controlled machine sequences, supported by new equipment groups and control modules.

The company says the ThermoLineControl and the control module self-adaptive startup simplify machine operation and accelerate the startup of new tools, allow process optimization, and increase process continuity. Special HTSs heater elements and a compensation control
reportedly lower the energy consumption of the thermoforming machine and increase product quality.
