Menasha Packaging Installs Flexo/Folder/Gluer

NEENAH, WI |  Menasha Packaging installs a four-color Isowa flexo/folder/gluer at its Lakeville, MN, plant with the capability to perform quick setup and fast run speeds and support customers with a lean supply chain and inventory control. An increase by 30% is expected in conversion capacity.

Lakevile’s Greg Theis, general manager, reports the flexo/folder/gluer replaces two pieces of equipment, which allows Menasha to manufacture preprinted retail-ready and club cases in-line without running multiple operations on a die-cutter and gluer. It can produce 21,000 pieces/hr—three times more than before—and has an average setup time of less than 5 min. The quick setups are said to allow more flexibility in the average order size Menasha can run for customers.

"The new equipment will give us the ability to produce packaging more efficiently and with better quality at all volume levels," said Theis. "It truly is state-of-the-art and outperforms anything we've had before in terms of speed and efficiency."

The Lakeville plant employs 360 people and produces a range of products, from traditional corrugated packaging to five-color graphic packaging.
