Heidelberg Buys Jagenberg Die-Cutting and Folding Carton Operations

DÜSSELDORF, GERMANY —Jagenberg AG, Neuss, Germany, reports it's sold its folding carton production unit to Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG as of January 1, 2003. Included in the deal are Jagenberg Diana GmbH and Woschnik + Partner Maschinenbau GmbH, plus Jagenberg Slovensko spol, sro (this latter a production location for mechanical components and preassembled parts in Solvakia).

According to the company's release, this Jagenbery unit develops and manufactures sheet die-cutting machines and folding-carton gluers for converting carton and corrugated board stock. "This acquisition fits perfectly in our strategy of strengthening and expanding our converting activities," says Bernhard Schreier, Heidelberg's CEO. "With these die-cutting machines and folding-carton gluers we are closing a gap in our portfolio and, hence, are able to offer our customers extended solutions in the important market of package printing," he adds.
