Dow to Up Prices on Surfactants

MIDLAND, MI, USA—The Dow Chemical Company reports, as of October 1, 2003 (or as contracts allow), it will increase all off-schedule prices for Tergitol, Triton NPE and OPE, Industrial and Sentry Carbowax PEG and MPEG products. The price increases will apply to the following products:

  • TERGITOL: NP-4 thru NP-40 (100% actives)— $0.05/lb
  • TERGITOL: NP-30, 40, 50, 55, 70 (70% actives)— $0.04/lb
  • TRITON: X-15, 35, 45, 114, 100, 100LD, 100CG, 102— $0.05/lb
  • TRITON: X-155, 165, 305, 405, 705—$0.05/lb
  • TRITON: N-57—$0.05/lb
  • Carboxwax: PEG Industrial and SENTRY Grades 200, 300, 400, 600, 900, 1,000—$0.05/lb
  • Carbowax MPEG Industrial and SENTRY Grades 350, 550, 750—$0.05/lb
According to Dow, the price increase is being implemented in response to continued rising costs for energy and key raw materials. In addition, says the co., it has decided to take this pricing action to restore margins to acceptable levels and ensure that it can meet market needs in the long-term.
