Speakers Announced for TAPPI RFID Symposium

Joseph V. LeBlanc, VP of research and development for Smurfit-Stone Container Enterprises, will deliver the keynote address at the 2006 TAPPI Boot Camp and RFID Symposium on June 7, 2006. His presentation, “RFID Packaging—Ready or Not its Coming,” will examine the primary drivers behind the emergence of RFID technologies in packaging markets.

LeBlanc will be joined by a number of other notable RFID researchers, early adopters, project managers, and implementation consultants who will discuss topics such as: RFID success stories and hard-learned lessons, developing an RFID strategy, up-front considerations for RFID projects, and best practices in deploying RFID technology.

The TAPPI Boot Camp and RFID Symposium, June 6-8, 2006, will explore the latest developments in cutting-edge RFID applications for the pulp, paper, packaging, and converting industries. The one-day boot camp is a pre-symposium workshop, intended for beginners to RFID, which will focus on the fundamentals of the RFID ecosystem. The two-day symposium is comprised of two tracks—one for paper industry personnel and one for converting industry personnel. Both events will be held at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis in Atlanta, Georgia.
