CIP4 Interoperability Conference Meets at Heidelberg

PRESS RELEASE

HEIDELBERG, GERMANY—Heidelberg recently hosted the 7th CIP4 IOP Conference at the Print Media Academy. Eighty-five participants from 30 print media companies met to further establish the jog definition format (JDF) as the open industry standard and enhance its functionality. Participants reached an agreement on enhancements for the news JDF version 1.3. In particular, functions for packaging printing and security are to be entered when exchanging JDF data online.

In contrast to previous conferences, the January 2005 meeting saw a high level of detail when verifying exchanged information. ICS documents were described and tested using fixed criteria for the imposition layout, customer information, and machine presettings.
