AIMCAL Tech Vacuum Web Coating Meeting Slated for October

FT. MILL, SC, USA—Concurrent coating/laminating and vacuum web coating tracks are on the agenda for the 2003 AIMCAL Fall Technical Conference and 17th International Vacuum Web Coating Conference, reports venue organizer AIMCAL. The event will also include a tabletop exhibition and reception, vendor sessions, a golf scramble, and a lunchtime tutorial.

According to AIMCAL, the coating and laminating track will feature sessions on support equipment to improve performance and quality; pressure-sensitive adhesives; and laminating innovations. The vacuum web coating track will feature presentations on vacuum equipment design and safety; resistance metallizing; sputtering and advanced deposition; testing and measurement practices; and products/applications, says the trade group.

The conference is slated to close with a joint session on managing supply-chain dynamics with presentations on applying the Six Sigma concept to supply-chain interaction; adapative supply-chain networks; and the AIMCAL Coating Defects Dictionary. Directly preceding the conference, the CEMA (Converting Equipment Manufacturers Association) div. of AIMCAL will hold a business meeting that will feature the keynote address: "Intellectual Property and Opportunities for Competitive Advantages."
