TAPPI Postpones Trade Fair Due to Sept. 11 Tragedy

NORCROSS, GA, USA—The following message is from TAPPI:

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the members of TAPPI who have been directly or indirectly touched by the tragic events of this week.

In light of these circumstances, TAPPI's leadership has made the unprecedented decision to postpone the 2001 TAPPI Engineering and Finishing & Converting Conference and Trade Fair, scheduled for September 16 through 20, 2001, in San Antonio, Texas. After much thought and deliberation, we have come to the realization that the severity of the situation and uncertainties of air travel preclude us from presenting a quality Conference and Trade Fair experience.

Freedom of association is a basic human right; therefore this decision was made with deep regret. However, we feel that in the best interest of our members, we must postpone. We anticipate that TAPPI's other fall events will proceed as scheduled.

I would like to acknowledge and thank our members around the world for the expressions of concern and sympathy. As we struggle to resume our lives and careers, please keep in mind that TAPPI remains committed to providing the resources you need in your work.
Best personal regards,
Wayne Gross, Executive Director
