Mitsubishi Ups PET Price

GREER, SC, USA—Mitsubishi Polyester Film LLC (Americas) reports a price increase of 10 cents per lb, effective September 17, 2002, for all grades of Mitsubishi PET film in its North, South, and Central American markets.

Mitsubishi officials cite historically low price levels as the reason for the increase. "After careful consideration of market conditions and dynamics, we were compelled to adjust our current pricing structure," explains Bill Radlein, VP of sales and marketing. "On a more positive note," he continues, "we have increased capital investments to support the growth of our customers and continue to pursue initiatives for improved customer service and product development."

Currently, says the film manufacturer, it produces a wide range of Hostaphan PET film at its Greer, SC, USA, facility. The film is used in a variety of applications, including packaging, industrial, speciality, electrical, imaging, and magnetic.
