Package-Development Workflow Standard Approved

RESTON, VA, USA—The American Standards Institute (ANSI) reports it has approved a new technical report, CGATS TR 001—Graphic Technology - Package Development Workflow: Design Concept through Approved Production File —which was developed by the Committee for the Graphics Arts Technologies Standards (CGATS), says NPES, the Association for Suppliers of Printing.

"This report was created to facilitate communication among all participants in the package-development process," says NPES, "from concept to preparation of an approved production file. CGATS TR 011 serves as a reference model for developing workflow procedures; it recommends participants' roles and responsibilities; provides default specifications for the information and material exchange at the workflow's every step; and identifies guidelines and standards that can be used to further define required parameters," the organization adds.

Serving as secretariat to the ANSI-accredited CGATS, NPES says the technical report is available in hardcopy form for $20 (US) and can be ordered by sending a message to This email address is being protected from spambots.
