ETI Announces New Coating Head

LONGUEUIL, QC, CANADA | ETI Converting Equipment, a global manufacturer of in-line coating and printing equipment, reports a new coating head reportedly capable of applying as little as 12 grams (1⁄2 mil) of UV hot melt adhesive, as well as 9 grams of regular hot melt, on 520-mm (201/2-in.) width at 150 mpm (500 fpm). Coating head is said to give a perfect clear/clear label without any marks or stripes.

Company says this success will have a real impact on printers’ margins since substantial savings could be achieved on both adhesives, particularly on the UV hot melt which is much more expensive.

ETI says it has already succeeded in applying 22 gsm of UV hot melt adhesive at 150 mpm. However, by reducing significantly the grammage during the manufacturing process with its new coating head, it is giving its customers the chance to be one step ahead, it adds.
