Coating Tech Institute Offers Slot Die Coating Course

 

EAU CLAIRE, WI | The Coating Tech Institute is an intensive three-day slot die technology course featuring both classroom instruction and hands-on demonstrations and trials. The course is designed to elevate industry beginners to intermediate levels of practical technical knowledge and skill in slot die coating technology. The event will be held August 19–21, 2014, at the Coating Tech Slot Dies corporate headquarters located at Chippewa Valley Technical College Applied Technology Center in Eau Claire and on-site at MEGTEC Systems, De Pere, WI.

The content is appropriate to individuals and companies new to slot die coating or considering switching to a slot die coating system. The material is also valuable to individuals considering a start-up company in the coating industry. Academic participants such as instructors and professors seeking hands-on industry experience are welcome as well as anyone wishing to increase his or her technical knowledge and experience in slot die coating technology.

Program content includes Introduction to Fluid Coating Technology, Rheology, Process, System, Technique, Coating Defects and Resolutions, and Business Track speakers touching on intellectual property, corporate funding, accounting, and marketing. The hands-on portion of the program takes place on day two at MEGTEC Systems and will allow participants to put their knowledge to work at operational slot die coating stations.

Presenters will include Mark Miller, co-founder of Coating Tech Slot Dies and author of the "Coating Matters" column online at PFFC, as well as other industry leaders.
