Ampac Pouch Is Honored by IFT

CINCINNATI, OH | Ampac has won an award for the recyclable No. 2 Pouch from the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) for innovations in packaging.

The resealable pouch is made from a coextruded HDPE blend said to yield a pouch with excellent stiffness and strength, and it can be produced with a clear, opaque, or matte finish.

This is Ampac’s first recyclable stand-up pouch, and the company says it was created to be more compatible with existing post-consumer waste streams. When clean and dry, the pouch can be recycled with plastic retail shopping bags collected at many stores across the US in conjunction with the How2Recycle initiative and the American Chemistry Council’s Flexible Film Recycling Group.
