Addex System Aids Bubble Control

 

STOUGHTON, MA | Addex introduces two gauge-control enhancement systems to help processors optimize the bubble control system, reduce scrap, and meet product specs precisely.

The ALF (All LayFlat) locates the sensor within the collapsing frame itself, reportedly allowing it to seamlessly accommodate a wide range of layflat widths. Company president Rick von Kraus says, “Our system eliminates the live ring and thus eliminates the previous limits on the range of bubble diameters.”

Company also has a new IR-based sensor that allows for critical online thickness measurement of barrier materials such as nylon and EVOH within mulitlayer structures for food packaging. The system can distinguish between layers rather that simply providing an overall thickness gauge,
