Open House to Showcase Omet’s Carton Press

LECCO, ITALY | Omet will hold a folding carton Open House April 20 of this year at Pragati Pack, Hyderabad, India, an award-winning company involved in producing print packaging. The event will feature the Omet Varyflex V2 in-line offset folding carton press.

The main features of the Varyflex installed at Pragati are a flexographic platform machine with the facility for rotogravure, cold foil, and a silk screen cassette in every position of the press. It is able to print, reverse print, foil, overprint, metallize, relief print, and convert, all in one pass.

The Varyflex V2 is said to be ideal for packaging for food, tobacco, fast moving consumer goods, pharma, and cosmetic packaging. Omet Varyflex V2 carton reportedly is a complementary technology for offset and gravure printers who want to run value added/short-run jobs.

Pragati ‘s Hemanth Paruchuri says, “We're excited about the wide range of substrates that can be printed on the press, from 12 micron all the way up to 600. It's very important for us to know what opportunities this'll bring to us in the carton side of business. It’s very versatile and there are a lot of avenues we can target!”

The Open House will be combined with a half-day conference to showcase how complete solutions in flexo technology can be integrated to print, offset, or gravure-like results on this machine. This event is being organized by Omet’s exclusive agent in India, Weldon Celloplast, in partnership with Esko and DuPont. Also being showcased will be the advantages of automatic butt splicing machines from Martin Automatic.
