RadTech stages conference sessions and exhibits devoted to ultraviolet and electron beam technologies.

RadTech, The Assn. for UV&EB Technology, will present uv.eb WEST 2017 Materials + Manufacturing Summit from February 27 to March 1 at the Embassy Suites San Francisco Airport Waterfront in Burlingame, CA. The schedule of events includes a short course, conference sessions, and tabletop exhibition.

Organizers report 50 exhibitors will be on hand, showing the latest raw materials, formulated products, and equipment for UV+EB technology. The conference features sessions in the following tracks:

  • 3D Printing: Market + Materials
  • Next Generation UV Inkjet Technology
  • Future of Food: Packaging + Disinfection
  • UV Materials for Displays: Touch + Beyond
  • UV LED

On Tuesday, February 28, David Biro and Greg Pace from Sun Chemical will present “Current and Future Challenges for UV/EB Inks in Low Migration Food Packaging.” Karl Swanson, eBeam Technologies, will present “EBeam – Food Safety and Beyond,” and Connie Williams, Mars Chocolate, will discuss “Mars and the Food Safety Modernization Act.”

 

RESOURCE GUIDE

RadTech has a new area on its website devoted to educating printers about the use of UV and EB technologies. The Radtech UV+EB Resource Guide for Printers is a compilation of more than 50 articles, archived webinars, and fact sheets developed by industry experts and specific to the use of UV/EB technology in printing. The guide was developed to better inform new and existing users in the printing industry who would like to learn more about the technology and how it can benefit their operations.

The guide, located at http://www.radtech.org/uv-eb-resource-guide-for-printers, has nearly 20 categories of information. It includes an overview and introduction; sections for all print processes (flexography, lithography, gravure, digital, and screen); and areas that focus on applications, curing, equipment, LED, food packaging, radiometry, regulatory benefits, RFID, and sustainability.
